A consistent award winner for over a decade (winning What HiFi’s Best Interconnect Award FOUR times), the latest generation Equator Achromatic builds on the strengths of its predecessors to deliver an even greater price-to-performance ratio.

The Equator Achromatic is fitted with Atlas Achromatic non-magnetic RCA plugs. The low-mass Achromatic connector features a precision calibrated cold-weld connection, creating a coherent, continuous signal path. The signal conductor is now high purity OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) copper encased with a superbly constructed double screen to provide maximum resistance to RFI (Radio Frequency Interference), which can raise noise levels in a poorly shielded cable.

The result is a beautifully balanced interconnect which offers a large three dimensional soundstage and fine levels of resolution without any sense of exaggerated detail, which is superficially impressive but quickly fatiguing to listen to.

Technology

• Acromatic RCA Connector – low-mass, non-compression, constant impedance, self-cleaning, solder-free construction plug.
• OCC Copper Conductor – OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) process was developed by Professor Ohno, from the Chiba Institute of Technology, to manufacture a very high purity single grain copper or silver. There are only a handful of companies in the world manufacturing via this method.
• PEF Dieletric – Foamed Polyethylene. The foaming process uses a blowing agent, of which there are two types. Atlas use the gas-foamed method which creates a more inert, consistent and higher quality product.
• Coaxial Construction – Central conductor (signal path) surrounded by dielectric material encased within a circular conducting screen which acts as the signal return path.
